The Cause
Our world needs more organizations like HER Life Journey that aim to serve a specific group of people in need through a Biblical foundation. As Christians, it is difficult to watch people in need go through so much soul-searching, enter expensive rehab programs, etc., only to realize what they’ve been needing first and foremost is Jesus Christ. We love that HER Life Journey uses the Lord to address the “Now what?” realization that so many people come to post-rehab, etc.
The Organization
We first learned about HER Life Journey when Co-Founder, Elena, approached us regarding marketing needs for her brand as a Master Stylist, HER (aka empowerHERhair). It was through learning about HER that she shared how HER Life Journey came to be and her goals for the non-profit once the necessary funding was available. We were so moved by her testimony and how she found a way to use an otherwise vain industry and her God-given skills as a force for good. We felt called right away to offer some of our services pro bono to help start-up her marketing needs.
The Solution
By blessing others, we are blessed. It has been our absolute honor to be of service in any way we can to HER Life Journey. We wish we could do more but are grateful that God has provided us with skills to serve such great servants of the Lord like Elena in unique and necessary ways other than traditional volunteering or simply sending money. Our journey has come full circle within a couple of years, where we have had the opportunity to refer women in need to HER Life Journey and have been able to refer possible resources through our own network. It is very easy to come up with a laundry list of excuses to not serve others, but God continues to push us and provide blessings in return. It has been so rewarding and encouraging to watch HER Life Journey grow, meet and hear the client testimonials firsthand, and to watch Elena’s steadfastness in all that she does. She is pure love and light. We are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for HER Life Journey!

The Cause
Having worked with women for many years as a Bible Study leader and teacher, I was familiar with the many obstacles and challenges women face as they begin to follow Jesus and heal from their past traumas and addictions. It is amazing to be a part of God's support team as these women learn and grown into the people God designed them to be.
The Organization
I learned of HER Life Journey from Elena Rosas when she first developed the concept of supporting women in recovery to reach their full potential through Biblical counseling and teaching practical life skills. I have seen the success in the women's lives she has worked with as they regain their families, find stable employment and find joy in life with Jesus.
The Solution
HER Life Journey has give me the opportunity to support women in recovery with in-person encouragement and by donating regularly to the ongoing program. I now see clearly the need for support and teaching that goes beyond the recovery program and is able to equip the women to build new lives.

My involvement in this organization has changed me in the fact that I no longer feel like I have to keep my personal experiences to myself. I’m able to share what I’ve experienced with these women and help encourage them that God has a bigger plan for them as well. This organization has impacted my family by my children seeing there are people less fortunate than us and now they have moved forward with a vision they’ve had for a while and started their own organization that blesses the unhoused population with backpacks filled with essentials. God is trying to teach me to continue being a light to all even when I feel like I’m not making a difference because I never know just how impactful my encouragement can be. This has impacted my personal generosity by just finding other ways to give back to the community. My perspective has changed by seeing these women turn their lives around and want to now give back to the community. I love that!

The Cause
Women need to feel loved, encouraged and supported in life and knowing these women more than likely never had that demonstrated to them is what drew me to this cause. My heart is to help people and share the love of God with as many people as possible. This was my opportunity to make sure these women felt Gods love through me. I know people who have experienced domestic abuse and homelessness, and they didn’t get the help they needed and that’s devastating. I wanted to be able to help other women who have experienced the same thing. I’m involved in this work because I want to make a difference and help as many women through recovery as I can. I’ve always been aware of this problem. As a child, I would see bartered and abused women walk into church and they tried to hide it or my mom would allow her friends to live with us who were experiencing domestic, or substance abuse and I knew they needed help. My understanding of the cause was to be a light to these women and yea anthem how to love themselves and help them be able to trust that there are good people in the world who are here to help them, encourage them and pray for them, while teaching them the Word of God.
The Organization
Elena shared her vision with me a few years ago and I was absolutely interested in being a part of such an amazing organization. The aspect of this organization that touched my heart was being able to connect with these women one on one, hear their stories and testimonies and encourage and pray for them that they will fulfill the purpose God created them for. This organization grabbed my attention because there is such a high population of homelessness in Ventura County and I didn’t know a majority of them were women and
children.
